The 2018 Global Women’s Basketball Association season is just under two months away, but the expansion Tennessee Fever continue to roll out good news in the buildup to its first year.
The Tennessee Fever will make its 2018 GWBA debut on June 2nd against the Chicago Breeze. Making the expansion franchise’s first season with the GWBA even more special is the Fever’s new, exclusive partnership with Memphis-based Black Butterfly Media. The partnership will ensure that basketball fans will be able to watch and read about the Tennessee Fever in action all season long.
As the official media partner of the Tennessee Fever, Black Butterfly Media will be a one-stop shop for content on the team. Whether it is the latest game report or highlights of another Fever win, Black Butterfly Media’s official website will be the place to go. The company’s website will be the exclusive home of preseason and regular season Fever games and highlights.
Currently, Black Butterfly Media spotlights University of Memphis Lady Tigers games. The media company has become synonymous with the Lady Tigers, and Black Butterfly Media hopes the same will occur as the official media partner of the Tennessee Fever.
Black Butterfly Media not only showcases the best in Memphis sports, but other forms of entertainment as well. The company’s website is dedicated to bringing the best entertainment news and television programming to the Internet. Black Butterfly Media features Internet television programming to entertain, educate and inspire the world. The possibilities and reach the Tennessee Fever have through the media outlet are immense, and it gives the team potential to expand far and wide in 2018.
The six-team league features franchises located in the Midwest and offers fans a different brand of basketball than the WNBA. The teams in the GWBA offer a faster paced, more European influenced type of basketball. The quicker pace will prepare the league’s players for future careers in the European women’s basketball leagues.
The GWBA is in its third year of existence and this year’s basketball season will be the league’s biggest yet. The Tennessee Fever will play its inaugural season with the GWBA and will compete against teams from Flint, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The team’s partnership with Black Butterfly Media will give the team and league a reach it hasn’t had yet.
The Fever will play 10 regular season games from June through August, and fans will be able to follow the team with Black Butterfly Media. Ever dribble, drive and dunk can be seen on the media company’s website.
